Smart Track - Improved Delivery Service and Piece of Mind
In a bid to improve service levels and a more pro-active approach to managing on road compliance Blue Circle has installed a GPS vehicle tracking system called Smart Track. Smart Track has been installed into the Packaged Products Transport company owned and sub-contractor fleet who work under Blue Circle operational control on a daily basis delivering Packaged Products throughout NSW.
There have been improvements in customer service levels where Blue Circle allocations staff can simply click the Smart Track website to find which vehicle is best placed to cover an urgent customer delivery request. This benefit flows onto our company and subcontractor fleet by improving the way loads are allocated which in turn has enhanced vehicle efficiencies.
Smart Track has also been installed to improve and strengthen our already robust systems to comply with road transport safety laws. Smart Track offers "real time" alerts to our drivers when they are due to take a legal fatigue management rest breaks throughout the day. The in cab GPS device has a counter which shows how much legal driving time a driver has left before they are required to take a rest break. If the driver fails to punch a break into the in cab GPS device an automatic e-mail alert is sent to allocations to advise them of a breach, this breach can then be acted on as pro-actively as possible. Managing driver fatigue is just one of many benefits that Smart Track provides within the Blue Circle Packaged Products fleet.
Smart Track will play a pivotal role in ensuring Blue Circle meet future customer demand and continue to comply with road safety standards to help ensure all parties in the supply chain comply with the Chain of Responsibility Legislation.
